‘Our task is not to overthrow globalisation, but to capture it, and to use it as a vehicle for humanity’s first global democratic revolution.’

‘Nuestra tarea no es derrocar la globalizacion, si no capturarla y utilizarla como el vehiculo para lanzar la primera revolucion democratica de la humanidad’
from ‘The Age of Consent’, by George Monbiot

Positive Global Movements started with a 6 day event at Rampart Social Creative Centre and part of the Creative Forum in St.George’s theatre.

Globalisation, in the hands of the corporations, is a means of colonising the new territories opened up by communication technology. In the hand of the people, it can be a medium to unite and put to work new global laws that preserve the livelihood of the people instead of securing profit for inhuman corporations.

A travelling show of lateral design concepts & pictures of an imaginary futuristic megalopolis with conceptual designs of portable dwellings and shelters deploying retractable and folding prefab modular systems, developed for nearly 35 years at Hololand Laboratories for lateral design concepts – some of it over the past few years at Area Ten in Peckham, London, UK

Pim Conradi

Innovator of construction systems, such as:

- Portable holography optics systems, dedicated as a fixed recording medium for 3-d arts and sculpture.
- Portable units for survival or folding nomadic shelters
- Development of modular D.I.Y.-construction/design systems, utilising simplified physical properties of regular geometric solids resulting in orbicular shaped enclosures.

I’d like to introduce you to a friend of mine currently residing in Peckham, South London.
He is an artist and designer who believes in living in environments that are abstract to the conventional square-boxed room. His environments are very inspiring to be inside and fractures the views of how we should be living.

Below are some photos I took of his installations at Area10 in Peckham, I recommend a visit if you get the chance.

Have a look at his website for his writing on his philosophy and methods, it is very comprehensive.

Launch of creativeforum.org!

Monday, July 25th, 2005

A few months ago the European Creative Forum’s website went down. Since then, the Creative Forum (as it is now known, due to its ever-increasing cultural diversity) has had no website.

Thankfully, the friendly people at The Open Co-op stepped in to help out and now we’ve got this nice wordpress site at http://www.creativeforum.org.

You can join the mailing list and get involved at: http://lists.riseup.net/www/info/creativeforum/
