Another World Is Blossoming

The systems and institutions upon which we rely for our well-being and survival are at risk of massive failure. Ecosystems everywhere are in decline. The age of cheap plentiful oil is over. Food and energy shortages are on the horizon.

Few are aware of the full nature and extent of our predicament and, of those that are, many feel powerless to do anything about it.

Corporate media manipulates our minds while the monetary system continues to fund plundering unelected presidents and plunge the world into an ever-increasing spiral of debt.

But all is not lost. There IS another way.

In fact, Another World Is Blossoming…

Communities across the World are beginning to self-organise and share resources in order to take back control of their lives and build hope for a sustainable future.

Another World Is Blossoming events will raise awareness about our predicament, inspire collective action for change and launch the Synergy Community Fund.

With films, music, debate and more participants will be empowered with knowledge about the state of the world, what pioneering groups are doing about it and how they can join in.

Together We Have Everything we need to Create the World We Want

Peak Oil. System dependency. Corporate war for resources. From corporate denial to greenwash and capitalist co-option. ?..

2nd meeting of a new forum in London promoting eco skillsharing and positive action.

This meeting is to get the ball really rolling with practical projects.

To learn positive low impact skills from organic gardening, low impact building, alt. energy, alt community living, and action skills.

To put people in touch with schemes that need volunteers and vice versa. To help with sustainable projects and communities and for us to start new ones both urban and rural.

To campaign / be involved in campaigns against greenwash, and its unsustainable ?green? consumerist/capitalist disguises. i.e the root causes of climate change and social misery are inherent in the capitalist system and it?s need for market/production growth.

To promote non-hierarchical campaigning and community building through building of genuine skills and skill-sharing. And everybody gets their hands dirty. i.e promotion of DIY culture over voyeuristic / consumerist/capitalist activities.

To connect urban and rural.

To make this available for all i.e. not economically, physically or socially prohibitive.

Positive Global Movements website launch

January 21st, 2006

People reclaiming Globalisation for the community. A website for promoting and networking peoples’ projects.

Positive Global Movements logo

‘Our task is not to overthrow globalisation, but to capture it, and to use it as a vehicle for humanity’s first global democratic revolution.’

‘Nuestra tarea no es derrocar la globalizacion, si no capturarla y utilizarla como el vehiculo para lanzar la primera revolucion democratica de la humanidad’
from ‘The Age of Consent’, by George Monbiot

Positive Global Movements started with a 6 day event at Rampart Social Creative Centre and part of the Creative Forum in St.George’s theatre.

Globalisation, in the hands of the corporations, is a means of colonising the new territories opened up by communication technology. In the hand of the people, it can be a medium to unite and put to work new global laws that preserve the livelihood of the people instead of securing profit for inhuman corporations.
